A Review of Hydrogen as a Fuel in Internal Combustion Engines

چکیده
The demand for fossil fuels is increasing because of globalization and rising energy demands. As a result, many nations are exploring alternative sources, hydrogen an efficient practical fuel. In the transportation industry, development hydrogen-powered cars aims to maximize fuel efficiency significantly reduce exhaust gas emission concentration. impact using as supplementary spark ignition (SI) compression (CI) engines on engine performance emissions was investigated in this study. By adding internal combustion engines, torque, power, brake thermal decrease, while their brake-specific consumption increase. This study suggests that will CO, UHC, CO2, soot; however, NOx expected Due reduction environmental pollutants most related benefits, clean sustainable source, its use should be expanded.

Ethanol Internal Combustion Engines
Ethanol Internal Combustion Engines HIGHLIGHTS PROCESS AND TECHNOLOGY STATUS – The use of biofuels (e.g. bio-ethanol and biodiesel) in the transport sector can save significant amounts of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Internal combustion engines (ICEs) can run on bio-ethanol manufactured from biomass or waste through biochemical processes. Agricultural feedstock such as sugar...
متن کاملTransient combustion control of internal combustion engines
This thesis addresses the problem of combustion control for automotive engines. A method is proposed to complement existing controllers, which use lookup tables based on steady-state operation. During transients, the new control method adjusts fast control variables (ignition or injection time) to compensate for deviations in the cylinder initial conditions from their optimal values due to the ...
متن کاملExhaust Emission Analysis of an Internal Combustion Engine Fuelled with Hydrogen-Ethanol Dual Fuel
The work presented in this paper is an attempt to evaluate the exhaust emission characteristics of a hydrogen-ethanol dual fuel combination with different percents of hydrogen substitutions (i.e. 0-80 % by volume and of 20 % increment ) at three different compression ratios of 7:1, 9:1 and 11:1. Experimental investigations have been carried out on a computer interfaced with; four-stroke cycle, ...
